Workshop Description:
Offered in a serene mountain
setting, this min-retreat is for
healthcare professionals interested in both
experiencing mindfulness and helping their clients
cope more effectively with stress. All
healthcare professionals are welcome:
psychotherapists, physicians, nurses, chiropractors,
acupuncturists, nutritionists, yoga teachers, body
workers and professionals who feel they may benefit
from learning to practice and apply mindfulness
techniques.
The retreat
will begin with introductions and welcoming.
Participants will then be led in a
variety of mindfulness practices including the
body scan, sitting and walking meditation, and mindful yoga.
During lunch, we will practice mindful eating and
explore the beautiful woods of Red Tail Lodge. In the afternoon,
we will present and discuss the professional
literature on mindfulness in healthcare.
Methods for teaching mindfulness to clients will be shared. The day will close with resources
for deepening mindfulness and integrating it more
fully into our professional work.
